Tel Aviv: The Israeli Defence Forces on Wednesday killed a senior Hezbollah commander in south Lebanon in a targeted strike. The Israeli forces reportedly carried out a major operation in Lebanon against Hezbollah. Hussein Ali Muzhir, a senior fire control commander for Hezbollah in the Zahrani sector, was eliminated in the operation.
A video of the attack on Muzhir's vehicle surfaced online. In the thermal imaging video, it could be seen that an explosive ripped apart the vehicle in which Muzhir was travelling.
Notably, Mazhar was responsible for targeting Israel with multiple rockets. Recently, he reportedly had worked to rebuild Hezbollah’s artillery capabilities in southern Lebanon.

Confirming the Hezbollah commander's death, the IDF said, "Will continue to operate in order to remove any threat posed to the state of Israel."
On Tuesday, the IDF had also killed Mehran Mustafa Ba‘jur, a key Hamas commander, in a targeted strike in Lebanon's Tripoli.
"Ba‘jur advanced and directed numerous terrorist attacks against Israelis and the IDF, spent years establishing Hamas’ military capabilities in Lebanon, was responsible for Hamas’ force-build up efforts, and purchased weapons through his connections with other terrorist organizations in the area," the IDF said in an X post.
"During the war, he was responsible for rocket fire attacks toward the towns of Nahariya, Kiryat Shmona, and additional cities across Israel. His elimination significantly degrades Hamas’ terror activity in Lebanon," it added.
