Kasur: A shocking incident surfaced from Pakistan's Kasur district, where a minor girl was molested by a man while she was playing near her home. The incident, which took place on July 25, was captured on camera, and a disturbing video surfaced online.
At the time of the incident, the girl was playing with another minor boy in Shah Inayat colony in the Khara Road area. The video shows a man coming from behind when the children were playing on their tricycles. When the minor boy went ahead with his tricycle, the girl was left behind.
Finding the girl alone, the man molested her. After committing the horrendous act, the man fled from the spot. The girl started screaming and rushed towards her home.
"Kasur, an attempt of brutality on a young girl playing in the street in Shah Inayat Colony, a tragic incident occurred on July 25," Pakistan's Geo News journalist wrote while sharing the video.
The incident sparked outrage. Netizens are are calling it a 'new normal' in Pakistan.
Notably, Pakistan continues to witness a rise in crimes against children, including child sexual abuse, abduction and child marriages. According to reports, Pakistan ranks third in online child abuse. The estimated child abuse in Pakistan is reportedly over 12 per day. In more than 50 per cent of the cases, the victims are girls.

In a report named 'Cruel Numbers' compiled by Sahil, an NGO working in Pakistan on child protection and with a special focus on sexual abuse, a total of 53 pornographic cases were reported in an investigation by the Federal Investigation Agency. Notably, in 2020, the Pakistani parliament passed a new law against child abuse.
