Hassan: In an unusual turn of events, a bride from Karnataka's Hassan, walked out of her wedding ceremony under police protection, after she denied to marry the groom. Just before the groom tied the mangalsutra (sacred marriage chain) around the bride's neck she confessed that she was in love with another man and hence, could not proceed with the wedding rituals. A video of the high-voltage drama has gone viral on social media.
The bride has been identified as Pallavi, the groom has been identified as Venugopal and the incident took place at Sri Adichunchanagiri Kalyana Mantapa.
It can be seen in the video, The duo is on stage and Venugopal is trying to explain something to Pallavi with mangalsutra in his hands and their relatives standing besides them. Another video shows, Pallavi walking out of the venue holding her boyfriends hand and her face covered. Her boyfriend can be seen escorting her to a car waiting outside. Both then leave the venue in a car.
Pallavi is a postgraduate and Venugopal G, is a teacher at a government school. The event, attended by hundreds of guests from both sides, was abruptly cancelled.
