'WhatsApp & Mail Are Now Filled With Job Requests': Senior Employee Shares Ordeal At Oracle After Mass Layoffs
A viral post by entrepreneur Rohit Aryan highlighted the impact of layoffs at Oracle, citing his uncle’s account from the Bengaluru office. Employees with over 15 years of service were reportedly terminated without warning, leaving many seeking job leads and support as messages flooded inboxes amid growing uncertainty.

As AI continues to reshape the global technology workforce, a post on X is going viral. Rohit Aryan, an entrepreneur, took to the platform to share what his maternal uncle, a senior-level employee at Oracle's Bengaluru office told him, painting a grim picture of the human cost behind the company's ongoing layoffs.
'Hardworking, talented, 15+ years, terminated just like that'
Aryan wrote that his uncle described the situation at Oracle as 'really bad,' with people he personally knows, professionals with over 15 years of tenure at the company, being let go without warning. "Hardworking, talented, 15+ years in the company, just terminated like that," Aryan quoted, adding that his uncle's WhatsApp and email are now flooded with messages from laid-off colleagues desperately seeking job leads, referrals, and any form of help they can get.

Aryan was quick to clarify that his uncle has not lost his job, but shared the account to highlight just how severe the atmosphere inside the company has become.
AI takeover named as the driving force
What makes the post particularly striking is the directness with which the cause is attributed. According to Aryan, his uncle explicitly pointed to increasing AI adoption as the reason behind the terminations, and warned that Oracle is not an isolated case. The senior employee reportedly named several other companies, suggesting that this wave of AI-driven job cuts is far from over.
"Today it's Oracle, tomorrow it'll be some other company," Aryan wrote, capturing his uncle's warning about the broader industry trajectory.
Share price up, but at what cost?
Aryan did not hold back on the moral dimension of the situation, noting that while Oracle's share price may be climbing, the human cost is being borne by employees who gave years, in some cases, entire careers, to the company. "Gave their life to one company, replaced in weeks," he wrote.
Forum of IT Employees notes that one employee, who worked for 20 years with the company and was just two years away from retirement was let go of during the mass layoffs. The employee was a cancer survivor.
Another X user, IndiaNewGen, wrote, “6 out of 20 members asked to leave. In many teams, nearly 50 percent gone. Total layoffs close to 20 percent."
