A spectator invaded the pitch on day two of the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) between India and Australia. In the video surfaced on social media on December 27, Friday, the fan was seen speaking to Virat Kohli before the authorities dragged him off the ground.

A fan had also invaded the pitch during the 2023 World Cup final between India and Australia in Ahmedabad during the former's innings when Kohli was out in the middle batting. Therefore, a fan on the social media platform of X also argued that it was the same person who had invaded to meet the star batter at the MCG.
India massively on the back foot at the MCG
Meanwhile, the tourists are massively on the back foot at the iconic MCG after Australia asserted their dominance in the first session of day two. The hosts began the day at 311/6 as Steve Smith and Pat Cummins combined for a 100-run stand and hammered 143 runs for the loss of only one wicket in the morning session. Ravindra Jadeja was the sole wicket-taker in the morning session with the scalp of Cummins.
The opening day of the Boxing Day Test saw Cummins win the toss and opt to bat first. Australia's top three of Sam Konstas (60), Usman Khawaja (57) and Marnus Labuschagne (72) made hay. Although the hosts suffered a mini-collapse, they still finished day one at 311/6, with Smith batting on 68.
