Video: Ex-Skipper Rohit Sharma Celebrates Holi With His Family & Mumbai Indians' Teammates

Former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma celebrated an auspicious festival of colours with his wife Ritika, daughter Samaira and teammates on the compound of their team hotel on Monday, March 25.

Mumbai Indians cricketers took a break from cricket and spent a quality time among each other to embrace the festival of colours. In a video shared by Rohit Sharma on his Instagram, MI stalwart can be seen enjoying and celebrating Holi with his family and splashing water and apply colours on them. He was also bombarded by his teammates with colours and water.

In another video shared by Mumbai Indians on its X handle (formerly Twiiter), all the players were having a fun time together to celebrate Holi. Skipper Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma and his family, new recruit Kwena Mphaka and Dewald Brevis were seen enjoying the festival of colours to their fullest.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians had a disappointing start to their campaign as they lost their opening match to Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. With the target of 169, MI were restricted to 162/9 in 20 overs by Gujarat Titans' bowling attack. Rohit Sharma played a brilliant knock of 43 off 29 balls while Dewald Brevis scored 46 off 38 balls, but their efforts went in vain as visitors fell just seven runs of achieving the target.

Ahead of IPL 2024, Mumbai Indians made change in their captaincy by Rohit Sharma with Hardik Pandya. The appointment of Hardik as new MI captain wasn't well-received as many questioned the reason behind sacking Rohit, who led the team to five IPL titles since 2013. For the first time since 2013, Rohit Sharma played a pure batter in the IPL.

Mumbai Indians will play their next match against SunRisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on March 27, Wednesday.
