Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios has shared his thoughts on bold claim made by Novak Djokovic ahead of Australian Open 2025.D During a recent interview with GQ, Djokovic claimed that he was "poisoned" during his detention in Australia three years ago. Kyrgios responding to the claim said that he was not aware of this and expressed regret over how the situation was handled.
Speaking at press conference ahead of the Australian Open 2025, the Australian said, "No, I haven’t spoken to him. I didn’t even know that," Kyrgios said. "But I’ll stand on... we treated him like s**t, that’s for sure. We wouldn’t have done that,"
Novak Djokovic's bold claim
Djokovic in his interview said that the poison could have come from the food provided during his five-day detention in a Melbourne immigration facility after his visa was cancelled over his unvaccinated status. He claimed that the tests that were done on him when he returned to Serbia in 2022 showed alarmingly high levels of lead and mercury in his body.
