The final round of group stage matches of ranji trophy (Round 7) will commence from January 30, with Delhi set to face Railways at Arun Jaitley Stadium. India's star batter Virat Kohli will make his comeback to domestic cricket after nearly 15 years, last playing in November 2012. He will play under Delhi captain Ayush Badoni and has already started training with the squad.
Delhi, currently 5th in Group D with 14 points, lost their last match to Saurashtra, while Railways, in 4th place with 17 points, drew against Assam. Security has been increased for the match due to Kohli’s presence.
After a disappointing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the BCCI urged senior players to play domestic cricket to regain form. Rohit Sharma recently played for Mumbai but failed to perform. With the Champions Trophy around the corner, both Rohit and Kohli need to get back in form to avoid concerns for the tournament.
