New Delhi's Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium is set to host the first-ever Kho Kho World Cup, scheduled to take place from January 13 to January 19. This landmark event will feature 16 teams in both the men’s and women’s divisions, representing six continents. The tournament marks a significant step in the global expansion of Kho Kho, a sport deeply rooted in India.
In total, 24 teams will participate in this historic event. The teams will be divided into groups based on their rankings, with India expected to start as the favorite in both divisions. The World Cup will feature two magnificent trophies - a blue trophy for the men's championship and a green trophy for the women's event.
Men’s Division Participants
The men’s tournament will see strong representation from Asia, including teams from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Indonesia, South Korea, and Malaysia. Africa will be represented by Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa, while England and the Netherlands will compete from Europe. Canada and the United States will represent North America, with Brazil and Australia participating from South America and Oceania respectively.
Women’s Division Participants
The women’s division also boasts a diverse lineup. Asian teams include India, Pakistan, Bhutan, Iran, Nepal, Indonesia, South Korea, and Sri Lanka. Africa will feature teams from Kenya, South Africa, and Uganda, while Poland, England, and Germany will represent Europe. Peru and New Zealand will compete from South America and Oceania respectively. Notably, no team from North America will participate in the women’s tournament this year.

The broadcast reach will be maximised through Star Sports Network and Doordarshan as TV broadcast partners, while Disney+ Hotstar will serve as the OTT broadcast partner.
