A Mumbai Indians fan was heard screaming 'Vadapav, Vadapav' after Rohit Sharma's wicket during the IPL 2025 game against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium on March 31, Monday. In a video shared on social media, the chants were heard immediately to mock the Mumbai Indians star, given he registered another low score.

The right-handed batter's poor form continued in the tournament as he made only 13 runs on Monday against the defending champions before being dismissed by Andre Russell. The match against the Chennai Super Kings saw him register a duck and made eight runs when facing the Gujarat Titans before Mohammed Siraj cleaned him up in Ahmedabad.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians' debutant Ashwani Kumar sizzled on Monday, picking up a wicket of his very first ball, dismissing Knight Riders skipper Ajinkya Rahane. The left-arm speedster's other three victims were Rinku Singh, Manish Pandey and Andre Russell as he finished with a haul of 3-0-24-4.

With the defending champions' innings lasting only 16.2 overs, they managed only 116 on the board. Ryan Rickelton later shone with the bat and struck an unbeaten 62 to gun down the target in less than 13 overs. Ashwani also earned the Player of the Match award for his haul of 3-0-24-0 as Mumbai Indians were finally able to get on board after two consecutive defeats.
