Insurance Shield Cricket Tournament: New India Assurance Enter Semis
Defeat Bank of Maharashtra By 22 Runs in the quarterfinal

New India Assurance (NIA) SC snatched a 22-run victory against Bank of Maharashtra in a quarter-final match of the 14th Insurance Shield T20 Inter-Office Cricket Tournament 2024, organised by Oriental Insurance Company under the aegis of MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association) at Cross Maidan on Saturday.
Sent in to bat, New India Assurance reached a total of 186 for the loss of five wickets from their 20 overs. Opening batsmen Harsh Ubale 60 (49-balls), and Anish Shetty 55 (26-balls) provided their team with a solid start. Later, Sanskar Dahelkr contributed 29 runs to prop the innings. Left-arm spinners Nayan Jadhav 2 for 41 and Himanshu Sonthalia 2 for 49 managed to take the wickets. In reply Bank of Maharashtra batsmen batted cautiously and were restricted to 164 for 4 wickets in 20 overs. Their leading scorer was Azim Khan 59 (46-balls) runs and Omkar Patankar 29 runs.
In another match, United Patni registered an emphatic 10-wicket victory against Reserve Bank of India in another last eight match.
Brief scores (quarter-finals): New India Assurance SC 186 for 5, 20 overs (Harsh Ubale 60 (49-balls), Anish Shetty 55 (26-balls), Sanskar Dahelkr 29; Nayan Jadhav LAS 2/41, 2/49) beat Bank of Maharashtra 164 for 4, 20 overs (Azim Khan 59 (46-balls), Omkar Patankar 29). Result: New India Assurance won by 22 runs.
Reserve Bank of India 53 all out, 13.4 overs (Ashwin Shelke 4/6, Sandesh Koli 3/11, Omar Patni 2/12) lost United Patni SC 54 for no loss 5.5 overs (Omar Patni 36*, Shreyash Singh 16*). Result: United Patni won by 10 wickets.
