'If You Don't Know What He Said...': Yashasvi Jaiswal Fiery Response To Harsha Bhogle Over 'Headbutt' Criticism

Yashasvi Jaiswal has responded to criticism from commentator Harsha Bhogle following his heated confrontation with Sri Lanka pacer Asitha Fernando during the second Test in Colombo. Jaiswal appeared to have headbutted Fernando after being provoked, risking a fine or a suspension.

Speaking a in a video for Cricbuzz, Harsha Bhogle opined that the best thing Yashasvi Jaiswal could have done in the situation was walk away. He also acknowledged that Jaiswal had been provoked, but felt the Indian opener crossed a line by returning to confront Fernando and getting too close to him.

"The easiest thing is just to go away. With Jaiswal, so much talent but just bubbling underneath, he's a slightly combative person. And the last thing I would want for someone of his extraordinary ability is to let that person override the extraordinary batter that he is and get him into a little bit of trouble," Harsha Bhogle said.

The Indian opener however disagreed with the take and seemed to take offence.

Responding to the Cricbuzz post on social media, Jaiswal wrote, “If you don’t know what he said then please don’t make your judgment,” making it clear that he believes the context of the exchange matters. He added that if someone crosses the line, “we need to let them know,” before declaring that “this India will fight and reply.”
