CCI & GMBA Badminton: Tournament Begins On June 2

The Cricket Club of India (CCI) in association with the Greater Mumbai Badminton Association (GMBA) will be conducting the CCI- GMBA Yonex Sunrise District Badminton Championship 2025, which will be played at the CCI badminton courts starting from June 2, 2025.

The six-day tournament will consist of the following events – Men’s singles and doubles, Women’s singles and doubles, Mixed doubles, Junior boys’ and girls’ U-19 singles and doubles, Junior boys’ and girls’ U-17 singles and doubles, Sub-junior boys’ and girls’ U-15 singles, Sub-junior boys’ and girls’ U-13 singles, Mini boys’ and girls’ U-11 singles. In addition, the organisers will conduct three events in the senior category – Men’s Senior (doubles) 80+ combination age, Women’s Senior (doubles) 75+ combination age and Mixed Senior (doubles) 80+ combination age.

Matches will be conducted according to the tournament rules and regulations as laid down by BWF and BAI. A player can participate in a maximum of three events. All matches till the pre-quarter-finals shall be played best of three games of 15 points each, with no extension in all events. All matches from the quarter-finals shall be played on a best of three games of 21 points each.
