AUS vs ENG, T20 World Cup 2024: All-Round Effort Guides Australia To 36-Run Win Over England
England have stuck with the same XI, while Pat Cummins for Nathan Ellis is the only change for Australia.

Australia's brilliant all-round effort guided the team to 36-run win over England in T20 World Cup Group C clash at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on Saturday, June 8.
After posting a total of 201/7, thanks to vital contributions from David Warner (39), Travis Head (34), Mitchell Marsh (35), Marcus Stoinis (30) and Glenn Maxwell (28), Australia managed to circumscribe England to 165/6 in a stipulated 20 overs.
Pat Cummins led Australia's bowling attack as he registered the figures of 2/23 with an economy rate of 5.80. Cummins was the most economical bowler for the winning team as other bowlers conceded economy rate of above 6. Adam Zampa picked two wickets while Marcus Stoinis and Josh Hazlewood picked a wicket each.
For England, Jos Buttler led the batting with a captain innings of 42 off 28 balls, while Phil Salt contributed to the run-chase with an innings of 37 off 23 balls. Moeen Ali and Harry Brook scored 25 and 20*, respectively. However, their efforts went in vain as England fell 37 runs short of achieving 202-run target set by Australia.
Mid-Innings Score:
Australia posted an impressive score thanks to contributions from all their batsmen. England's strategy to use two offspinners against the left-handed openers, David Warner and Travis Head, backfired as Australia scored 22 runs in the second over. Warner and Head capitalised on the powerplay with aggressive batting against England's fast bowlers.
England soon realised that slower deliveries were more effective. Adjusting their strategy, they managed to pull back the run rate and take key wickets. After the openers fell, Mitchell Marsh and Glenn Maxwell built a small partnership. Following their dismissals, Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Wade kept the scoreboard ticking.
Australia's final score of 201 was the result of balanced contributions from the entire batting lineup, with the highest individual score being just 39. This demonstrates how well the team worked together to achieve a strong total.
