Pune VIDEO: Drunk Driver Crashes Into DCP Himmat Jadhav’s Car; Daughter Injured

Mundhwa: A shocking accident took place in Pune's Mundhwa on Friday night where a drunk driver allegedly crashed his vehicle into the car of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Himmat Jadhav. 

The accident occurred in Keshav Nagar area between 10:00 and 10:30 pm. DCP Jadhav’s daughter, who was present in the car at the time, sustained minor injuries in the mishap.

Mundhwa Police immediately intervened and took two accused persons into custody. A case has been registered in this regard at the Mundhwa Police Station for Driving Under the Influence (DUI).

The driver was reportedly intoxicated. Mundhwa Police are investigating the matter. 

A video of the car after the crash was recorded, in which dents can be seen on the driver’s side. The impact of the crash looks severe as the airbags were forced to deploy. It is a personal car, not a police vehicle.

Himmat Jadhav is the in-charge DCP of Pune Police's Traffic Branch. He was previously the DCP in charge of Zone 4 of Pune Police. In July, he was appointed as the head of the Traffic Branch, replacing DCP Amol Zende, the former Traffic Branch DCP of Pune.
