Pune: A shocking incident unfolded in Manchar on Friday morning when a 35-year-old woman tried to kill her teenage daughter and then jumped into a well with her young son.
The six-year-old boy drowned in the well, while the woman was rescued by local residents. The 14-year-old daughter was found unconscious at home and is currently receiving medical treatment.
Police said that local residents saw the woman jump into the well with her son around 8:15 am. Several people immediately dived in to save them and pulled both out of the water.

They were rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared the boy dead on arrival. The woman survived the fall and was admitted for care. The situation became even more serious when the woman’s husband arrived at the hospital.
He asked about their daughter, and the woman told him the girl was still at their flat. Police rushed to the house and found the teenager unconscious. Investigators believe the mother had strangled the girl before leaving for the well.
