Pune Crime: Just Ahead Of One-Year Mark Of Horrific Porsche Crash, Drunk Driver In Speeding Fortuner Hits And Kills Lawyer

One year to the completion of the horrific Porsche crash in Pune, another tragic accident has claimed a life. Last year, a speeding Porsche hit a computer engineer duo in Pune's Kalyaninagar area, resulting in their deaths.

Now, a new fatal accident has occurred, involving a two-wheeler rider hit by a speeding Fortuner car on the wrong side at Manerwadi on the Panshet-Pune road on Wednesday.

The victim, identified as 35-year-old Aniket Arun Bhalerao, a lawyer from Vardade, Pune, died in the accident on Wednesday, May 14, around 5:30 pm. After hitting Aniket, the driver of the Fortuner, along with a young woman, fled the scene. Aniket's uncle, Shantaram Gopal Bhalerao, has filed a complaint at the Haveli police station.

According to the complaint, Aniket was on his way to Khanapur to buy vegetables when the Fortuner, coming from the opposite direction near Tarangan Hotel, struck him. Seriously injured, Aniket was taken to a primary health center in Khanapur, and later transferred to a private hospital in Pune, where he was declared dead.

Eyewitnesses and family members have named the driver and claimed that he was intoxicated at the time of the crash. Aniket's relatives have called for the same swift action by the police as seen in the Kalyaninagar accident. The Haveli police have registered a case against the driver and are investigating further.
