Pune Police has registered a fresh case against Pranjal Khewalkar, son-in-law of former Maharashtra minister and NCP(SP) leader Eknath Khadse, officials said on Friday.

According to the police, a woman has complained that Khewalkar clicked her photographs and shot videos without her consent.

"He has been booked under Section 66E of the Information Technology Act and Section 77 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)," the police added.

Khewalkar is currently in jail after he was arrested along with others following a raid on July 27 on a flat in Pune's Kharadi, where cops claimed a "drug party" was underway.

Speaking to the media after today's case was registered, Maharashtra State Women's Commission Chairperson Rupali Chakankar said more cases of this nature are likely to be registered against Khewalkar, alleging that it could be the biggest "sex racket" in the state.

Earlier, Chakankar alleged that hundreds of objectionable videos and photos of women were found in Khewalkar's mobile phone.

"A hidden folder in Khewalkar's phone contained 252 videos and 1,497 photos of vulgar or indecent acts, and they were used to blackmail the girls. The possibility of a human trafficking racket can not be ruled out," she claimed.

She demanded that the mobile phones, emails and financial transactions of the accused should also be probed.

Meanwhile, Khewalkar’s wife Rohini Khadse, who is also the Maharashtra women’s wing chief of the NCP(SP), alleged that Chakankar was indulging in a "pre-scripted drama".
