The class tenth examination conducted by the Maharashtra Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MBSHSE) started on Friday. In all, 67,978 students will appear for the examination in 238 examination centres in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district. As compared to last year, the number of students has increased this year in the district by 989.
In the Marathwada division, as many as 89,022 students from 2,737 schools will appear for the examination in 644 centres. This year, 3,447 students more are appearing compared to last year.
The administration has taken adequate measures to prevent malpractices during the examination. Measures such as video surveillance, police patrols, stationary teams, and other machinery have been arranged to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination.

Education Officer (Secondary) Ashwini Lathkar has warned of strict action if any malpractices are found during the examination. In the district, 67,978 students from 153 schools will take the examination across 238 centres, of which 23 centres are considered sensitive. The district administration is implementing a copy-free campaign. The administration has also warned that people should not wander near the examination centres and should maintain peace around the areas.
Meanwhile, prohibitory orders have been imposed in the areas surrounding the examination centres. Accordingly, xerox machines, telephones, fax centres, and other such establishments will remain closed within 100 metres of the centres. The use of mobile phones, wireless sets, radios, calculators, and laptops has been banned. These prohibitory orders will remain in effect until March 18.
