Aurangabad Divisional Central Prison Hosts Annual Sports Competition, Recognizes Top Athletes

The Divisional Central Prison annual sports competition was held in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar recently. The event was inaugurated by SP Dr. Vinaykumar Rathod. The winners of various sports events were awarded prizes by Special IGP (Prison) Dr. Jalindar Supekar. Officers of the central prison superintendent office, sports persons, their family members, and others were present. In all, 134 sports persons from central prisons of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Latur, Jalna, Dharashiv, Nanded, Beed, Parbhani, and Paithan participated in the competition.

The sports events included 100 meters running, 200 meters running, long jump, discus throw, shotput, javelin throw, badminton, relay race, kabaddi, volleyball, individual and team sports events. Under the guidance of prison superintendent Dattatray Gawade, the sportspersons of the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar central prison clinched several prizes. Sunil Kakarwal was announced as the best male sports person and Swati Talekar as the best female sports person.
