Vasai: Taking advantage of rains, 17-year-old breaks roof and attempts to loot jewellery shop
The boy has been admitted to a Vasai civic hospital and will be produced before the Juvenile Court, Bhiwandi on Thursday said the official.
A 17-year-old boy climbed over the asbestos sheet of a Vasai E jewellery shop and entered the shop to loot on Wednesday dawn. Hearing the commotion locals gathered around the shop and gave a sound thrashing to the thief and also informed the owner who intimated the Waliv police. Taking advantage of the torrential downpour the thief made the attempt, informed Sub Inspector Atul Nawale. The boy has been admitted to a Vasai civic hospital and will be produced before the Juvenile Court, Bhiwandi on Thursday said the official.
"The thief residing in Achole Road Nalla Sopara E broke the overhead asbestos tile and entered the Yasmin Jewellers located at Sai Nagar, Gavrepada, Vasai E. A crowd gathered after hearing the noise inside the shop and they caught the teen accused and gave a sound thrashing and later informed the shop owner who called us," said Nawale.
"We admitted the teen to the Petit Civic hospital at Vasai and have registered cases under Section 457(trespass) and 380(theft) of IPC and will produce him before the Juvenile Court, Bhiwandi on Thursday," said Nawale. "We have also called his parents for questioning and also checked if he has a criminal past," said the official.
