Thane News: 63-Year-Old Man Found Dead Inside Well; Police Register Accidental Death Report
An official from the Regional Disaster Management Cell of the Thane Municipal Corporation said they received information about a man found in a well in the Kopari area of Thane.

A 63-year-old senior citizen was found dead in a well in Thane on Sunday morning. The deceased has been identified as Hemant Jagannath Shelar (63), a resident of Janki Building in the Sagaon area of Dombivli.
An official from the Regional Disaster Management Cell of the Thane Municipal Corporation said they received information about a man found in a well in the Kopari area of Thane. "Subsequently, we dispatched one fire engine and a pickup vehicle to the spot. The body was retrieved from the well and sent to the hospital, where a post-mortem was conducted," the official said.

Yasin Tadvi, chief of the Regional Disaster Management Cell, said, "We learned that the man had come to visit his brother in the Kopari area of Thane on Saturday evening. He had been missing since 8:30 PM on Saturday."
The Kopari police stated that they rushed to the spot after receiving the information. "We are currently investigating the matter. So far, we have registered an accidental death report," a police officer said.
