Thane: A fire broke out in the kitchen of Maiz Mexican Hotel at Pachpakhadi in Thane West, on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred around 11:09 am, reportedly due to a malfunction in an oil fryer.
While the blaze caused damage to kitchen equipment and electrical wiring, no injuries were reported. Visuals of the incident have gone viral on the internet showing scenes of the burnt oil fryer that was involved in the mishap.
According to the Thane Municipal Corporation’s Disaster Management Cell, the fire was first reported by the Pachpakhadi Fire Station. Firefighters, along with disaster management personnel, rushed to the spot with one fire engine and one rescue vehicle.
