Resident Doctors To Continue Agitation Despite Withdrawing Strike, Central MARD Tells Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis

Mumbai: A delegation of Central MARD met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday, reiterating that while the statewide indefinite strike has been withdrawn in compliance with the Bombay High Court's directions, the agitation by resident doctors will continue until their long-pending demands are addressed.

Strike Withdrawn Only To Comply With High Court Order

The delegation, led by Central MARD President Dr Atharva Shinde and Chief Coordinator Dr Vinayak Shah, informed the Chief Minister that the strike was called off solely out of respect for the High Court's directions and not because their demands had been fulfilled. They stressed that resident doctors would continue their democratic and peaceful agitation until a resolution is reached. According to Central MARD, the Chief Minister heard the delegation's concerns in detail and assured them that the issues raised would receive positive consideration.

Central MARD said it remains committed to engaging in constructive dialogue with the government while continuing its peaceful democratic protest until the pending demands of resident doctors across Maharashtra are resolved.
