Four officers from the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate have been awarded the prestigious President's Medal for their exceptional and distinguished service in the police force. The officers—Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Deepak Sakore, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Anti-Human Trafficking Cell) Dharmapal Bansode, Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Karbhari Kote of Kalamboli Police Station, and Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Jitendra Vitthal Mhatre from Panvel Taluka police station—have been honored for their notable contributions to policing.

The President's Medal, announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs, is given to police personnel for their exemplary performance in service on Republic day. A total of 43 officers from Maharashtra have received this honor, including Deepak Sakore, who has been recognized for his outstanding service, while Dharmapal Bansode, Rajendra Kote, and Jitendra Mhatre have been acknowledged for their exemplary quality of service.

Deepak Sakore (Additional Commissioner of Police), who began his career as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) in 1996, has made significant contributions across various locations, including Yavatmal, Dhule, Barshi, Solapur, Inchlakarji, and Kolhapur. He later served as the Additional Superintendent of Police in Thane Rural, Police Commissioner for the Anti-Corruption Department, and the Police Commissioner of Pune City, where he successfully solved several complex and cyber crimes.

His remarkable achievements have earned him recognition from the Director General of Police, including a prestigious honor for his efforts in ensuring safety during the Kumbh Mela in Nashik. Upon taking charge in Navi Mumbai, Sakore conducted stern actions under the MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act) against notorious criminals, apprehending several infamous gangsters.

Dharmapal Mohan Bansode (Assistant Commissioner of Police), known for his dedication and integrity, he joined the Maharashtra Police Department as a Police Sub-Inspector in 1992. He is currently serving in the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell in Navi Mumbai. Bansode represented India in two United Nations peace missions and has received significant recognition for his excellent contributions to global peace. While serving in the Mumbai Bomb Detection Unit, Bansode played a key role in successfully disabling a time bomb, preventing significant loss of life and property. He has also trained over a thousand police personnel on bomb detection and countermeasures. Throughout his career, he has uncovered several serious crimes and identified fake visas and passports during his tenure in the Immigration Department. Additionally, Bansode has rescued over a hundred women from the sex trade.

Police inspector Rajendra Kote, an officer from the 1995 batch, is currently serving as the Senior Police Inspector at the Kalamboli Police Station. With 30 years of service, Kote has been awarded 211 commendations and numerous accolades, including the Best Trainer Award from the DGP (Director General of Police).

Jitendra Vitthal Mhatre (Assistant Police Sub-Inspector), who joined the Raigad Police Department as a Police Constable in 1993, is currently serving at the Panvel Taluka Police Station. Since 2007, Mhatre has been working in the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate, completing 32 years of distinguished service. He has excelled in various roles, including crime detection, confidential work, and accounting, and is currently handling preventive operations. Mhatre has received a total of 226 awards during his service.

"These four officers have demonstrated exceptional dedication and service, contributing significantly to the safety and well-being of the public. Their achievements have earned them well-deserved recognition on the occasion of Republic Day 2025," Navi Mumbai Police commissioner Milind Bharambe said.
