Navi Mumbai Police Raising Day 2025: Students Visit Stations For Insights On Operations And Safety

Navi Mumbai: School students are visiting the local police stations on account of the Raising Day Week celebrated by the Navi Mumbai Police.

Raising Day is celebrated every year on January 2. The day marks the formal handing over of the state police flag by the former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in 1961.

To encourage people participation as well as to let younger generations have a personal understanding on the way police stations function, schools are encouraged to organise a visit on this day. One such visit was organised to the Turbhe police station by the students of Aerospace Engineering College on Friday.

A total of 38 Students were provided with information about police operations, various departments within the police station, and they were even made aware about the various types of weapons used by the police.

"The raising day serves as an ideal opportunity to learn about the local police station. Students were explained about the newer initiatives of the department i.e. the Navi Mumbai Police WhatsApp channel, and the Navi Mumbai Police YouTube channel, with instructions to follow these resources," said an officer from Turbhe police station.

On December 2, a similar gathering was organised by the DAV public school, Nerul. Around 80 odd students were briefed by the police officials from NRI coastal police station on various aspects of policing in the city.

The students were informed about contacting police helpline no 110 in event of any emergency as well as the cyber security number 1930 in event of any digital or online frauds.

"The students were accompanied by their teachers and were given a detailed overview about the station management and functioning of the officers," said a police official from NRI coastal police station.

Additionally, students were educated on topics such as Crimes involving children, means to secure Women’s safety , Precautions to be taken while using social media, adherence to Traffic rules, Anti-drug laws.
