Navi Mumbai: Panvel Students Craft Eco-Friendly Rakhis To Honor Soldiers Under 'Har Ghar Tiranga' Campaign |
As part of the ongoing ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ celebrations, the Panvel Municipal Corporation organised a special Raksha Bandhan initiative to honour the nation’s soldiers. Students from municipal and private schools handcrafted eco-friendly Rakhis, which will be sent to troops stationed along the Rajasthan border.
The activity aimed to combine patriotic spirit with environmental responsibility. The Rakhis were made using biodegradable and reusable materials, reducing plastic waste while symbolising love and gratitude towards the armed forces.
Workshops were held at Panvel Municipal School No. 5 Jeevan Shikshan Vidyamandir (Motha Khanda), Shri Ganesh Vidyamandir (Dhakta Khanda), and Ramsheth Thakur English Medium School (Kamothe). Teachers guided students in the creative process.
The initiative not only strengthened the bond between citizens and soldiers but also promoted sustainable practices among young learners. The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign will continue across the city until Independence Day on August 15.
