Navi Mumbai News: NMMC Extends Property Tax Payment Counters’ Timings, Offers 50% Penalty Waiver

To facilitate the convenient payment of property tax for citizens, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation’s (NMMC) Property Tax Department has introduced a special provision. As part of this initiative, property tax payment counters will remain open even on holidays. Accordingly, the counters will be operational on Saturday, March 22, and Sunday, March 23, 2025.

Until March 30, 2025, property tax payments can be made at the NMMC headquarters and divisional offices daily between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Additionally, on March 31, 2025, the property tax payment counters will remain open until midnight. The Municipal Commissioner and Administrator, Dr. Kailas Shinde, has urged Navi Mumbai residents to take advantage of this facility and ensure timely payment of their property tax dues.

NMMC has also introduced a waiver scheme from March 10 to March 31, 2025, offering a 50% discount on the penalty amount for pending property tax dues. As a result, there has been an increased flow of citizens paying their property tax at various divisional offices and the NMMC headquarters through Axis Bank and ICICI Bank counters.

To accommodate the growing number of taxpayers, these bank counters will remain open for extended hours during this period. Additionally, the bank counters will continue to operate even on public holidays, as announced by Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Kailas Shinde.
