Mumbai: Mumbai woke up to moderate rain, overcast skies and gusty winds on Friday morning as monsoon conditions continued to prevail across the city. Several parts of Mumbai received moderate to heavy showers overnight, bringing relief from humid conditions and keeping temperatures in check.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), no rain alert has been issued for Mumbai on Friday or over the upcoming weekend. However, the weather department has forecast generally cloudy skies with moderate rainfall and occasional thundershowers across the city and suburbs throughout the day.

While widespread heavy rainfall is not expected, isolated pockets may witness moderate to heavy showers accompanied by gusty winds. Wind speeds are likely to remain between 40 and 50 kmph, with gusts reaching up to 50–60 kmph during intense rain spells. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 31 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature recorded on Friday morning was 29 degrees Celsius.

AQI Remains Good Overall

The ongoing monsoon has also continued to improve Mumbai's air quality. According to official data, the city's Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 27 on Friday morning, placing it firmly in the 'Good' category. Under the standard AQI classification, readings between 0 and 50 are considered good, indicating clean air with minimal health risk to the general public.

With no weather warning in place for the city, Mumbai is expected to continue witnessing typical monsoon conditions over the next few days, with intermittent rain spells and cloudy skies.
