Mumbai News: Fire Breaks Out At Marshal Showroom In Worli; One Firefighter Injured

Mumbai: A Level-I fire broke out in the early hours of Friday at a warehouse in Gandhi Nagar, Worli, prompting a swift response from the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB). Officials confirmed that the fire, first reported at 4:46 AM, was successfully extinguished by 7:12 AM.

The incident occurred at the Marshal Showroom located in Bharat Bazar, Dr E. Moses Road. The structure, a ground-plus-one-storey AC-sheet-roofed godown, housed a variety of combustible materials, including paper bundles, gift boxes, makeup accessories, printed material, stationery stock, clothes, computers, wooden furniture, and even a two-wheeler stored on the mezzanine floor.

According to initial reports, the blaze was confined to electrical wiring and installations, spreading quickly to the stored goods and causing damage across approximately 900 square feet on both the loft and ground levels. The MFB declared it a Level-I fire at 4:55 am, with multiple fire engines and personnel deployed to the site.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and an investigation is currently underway. The timely response by the MFB ensured the fire was contained without further escalation, preventing potential damage to nearby structures in the densely packed commercial area. There were no civilian injuries or casualties reported.

Fire Erupts At 32-Storey Sarova Complex In Kandivali

A fire broke out in a ground plus podium plus 32-storey high-rise building, the Sarova complex, in Thakur Village, Kandivali, on Thursday. The incident was reported at 8:45 AM and was extinguished by 9:11 AM.

The Mumbai Fire Brigade classified the incident as a minor fire, stating that the blaze likely started due to a short circuit. The fire was confined to electrical wiring, electrical items, and other household belongings. Personnel from the Mumbai Fire Department, the Samta Nagar Police Station, and Adani Electricity were deployed at the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and all residents were evacuated safely.
