Mumbai News: Goldsmith Killed In Sewri Road Crash, 15-Year-Old Son Survives
According to the police, the accident occurred around 8:30 am, when the Tata Intra tempo, allegedly driven rashly, collided with the Suzuki Burgman scooter, causing both father and son to be flung onto the road.

A 42-year-old goldsmith, Mohammad Hussain Shaikh, from Grant Road, lost his life in a road accident on Independence Day morning after a speeding tempo rammed into his scooter near the BPCL plant in Sewri. His 15-year-old son, Rihan, who was riding pillion, survived the crash.
Collision at high speed
The accident occurred around 8:30 am when a Tata Intra tempo, allegedly driven rashly, collided with their Suzuki Burgman scooter, flinging both father and son onto the road. Eyewitnesses said the tempo ran over Shaikh, with one of its tyres halting on his body.
Constable rushes to help
Rihan, though conscious, witnessed the horrific incident. Police Constable Suraj Gujjar from Wadala police station, who was on his way to a flag-hoisting ceremony, noticed the commotion, stopped to assist, and alerted emergency services.
Victim declared dead at hospital
With help from locals, Shaikh was extricated from under the tyre, and both father and son were rushed to Habib Hospital in Dongri. Doctors declared Shaikh dead before admission around 9:30 am.

Driver surrenders to police
The tempo driver, identified as 24-year-old Aziz Chand Khan, later surrendered at the Wadala police station. He has been booked under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and Motor Vehicles Act for rash driving and causing death by negligence. He was released after being served notice, pending investigation.
Probe underway
Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to verify the exact sequence of events leading to the fatal accident.
