Mumbai: A disturbing incident was brought to light on Friday by a Mumbai resident, identified as @ByRakeshSimha on X, who shared a video showing a Zomato delivery guy allegedly spitting on a food order before delivering it in the Kanjurmarg area. Responding to the viral video, Zomato said, "We do not condone such behavior from delivery partners onboarded on our platform."
The user claimed that his friend, Narayan Parvathy Parasuram, a Bollywood music composer, noticed that the delivery guy engaged in suspicious activity with the food. Upon closer inspection, it was revealed that the delivery person had spit on the food. The shocking incident has sparked outrage on X, with users questioning food safety and hygiene standards at food delivery services.

In an X post shared by the user, stated "Narayan Parvathy Parasuram, Bollywood music composer: "Waiting at the Huma Kanjurmarg bus stop in Mumbai, my sight fell upon this Zomato guy opening each one of his food packages and doing something. On looking closely, I realised that he was spitting in each of the packages and sealing them back again. I took out my phone to capture his vile act, but he saw me and as I rushed towards him, he quicky got away on his two-wheeler." As per a mutual friend, Narayan then went to the office where Zomato had delivered and told the staff about the spitting incident. Hopefully, they'll take up the matter with Zomato."
The incident was noticed by the user's friend when the Zomato guy was with his bike, he realised the delivery person was spitting on the food. When the delivery guy noticed that he was being recorded, he quickly fled the scene on his two-wheeler. The video quickly went viral on social media, with many expressing concern about the integrity of food delivery services.

In response to the post, Zomato stated, "Hi Rakesh, we do not condone such behaviour from delivery partners onboarded on our platform. Please share the exact time and location of this incident, and our team will look into this on priority."
