Mumbai News: 3 Detained For Using Drone Without Permission To Shoot Promotional Video In Andheri

Mumbai: Three persons were detained and issued a notice for using a drone without permission in the SEEPZ area of Andheri East. All three work for a private firm, Unicorn Realty, that had undertaken a project to create a promotional video for their client. After the launch of Operation Sindoor, strict drone regulations were implemented for security reasons across the country.

Under Section 163 of the Indian Citizen Security Act, the use of drones, aircraft, paragliders, and paramotors has been banned. The Mumbai police issued a notification banning the use of such aerial equipment from June 5 to July 4.

As per the FIR, the AntiTerrorist Squad (ATS) of the MIDC police received information about the droneon Friday. The detained persons are Mohammad Sunny, 27, who was operating the drone. Swapnil Desai, 32, and Sonikumar Roy, 26, are employees of the same company, and were assisting the drone operator.
