Commuters traveling on Mumbai’s Western Railway network this weekend should brace for significant disruptions due to a major 13-hour block scheduled for critical re-girdering work on Bridge No. 5 between Grant Road and Mumbai Central stations. During the block period, over 80 pairs of suburban trains will be canceled.
According to Western Railway, the block will be in effect from 10:00 PM on Saturday, February 8, to 11:00 AM on Sunday, February 9, 2025. During this period, all Up and Down Fast line trains will be diverted to the Slow lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central stations.
The block will have a major impact on suburban train operations. Thirteen pairs of suburban trains will be canceled on Saturday night, and over 70 pairs of suburban trains will be canceled on Sunday. Additionally, several Churchgate-bound trains will be short-terminated or reversed from Bandra and Dadar stations.
