Mumbai: A fire broke out in 8 to 10 hutments in Govandi on Saturday morning, resulting in a large-scale firefighting operation that lasted nearly three hours. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

According to information received from the BMC’s Disaster Management Cell, the blaze erupted at around 10 am in New Gautam Nagar, Sonapur Lane, Govandi. Fire officials said the flames were confined to electrical wiring, electrical installations, furniture, household articles, ceiling fans, false ceilings, and other materials within the affected hutments.

Multiple agencies were immediately mobilized, including the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB), police, staff from the concerned electricity distribution company, and 108 ambulance services. The fire was successfully brought under control and completely extinguished by 1:10 pm.

While the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, authorities confirmed that there were no casualties or injuries reported in the incident.
