Mumbai Crime Branch Unit 6 Seizes Banned Gutkha Worth ₹17.74 Lakh In Govandi Raid; 2 Arrested
In a significant operation against the illegal sale of banned gutkha, the Crime Branch Unit 6 conducted a raid on a warehouse in Govandi on June 27 and seized gutkha worth ₹17.74 lakh. Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the case.

Mumbai: In a significant operation against the illegal sale of banned gutkha, the Crime Branch Unit 6 conducted a raid on a warehouse in Govandi on June 27 and seized gutkha worth ₹17.74 lakh. Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the case.
According to police officials, the raid took place at a warehouse located at Plot No. 40/57, Road No. 15, Shanti Nagar, Bainganwadi, Govandi, following a tip-off about large-scale gutkha storage. Acting swiftly, a team from Unit 6 raided the premises and seized 184 sacks of gutkha.

The arrested accused have been identified as Abdul Halim Abdul Samad Khan and Mohammad Tanveer Imam Ullah Khan. Along with the gutkha, police also confiscated three mobile phones and two two-wheelers from the accused, believed to have been used in the illegal operation.
A case has been registered at Shivajinagar Police Station, and the Crime Branch has officially taken over the investigation.
