Mumbai: BMC Contractors' Road And Drain Repairs Cause Widespread Inconvenience, Safety Hazards Across City

Contractors appointed by the BMC for road and storm water drain repairs have dug several roads all over the city causing huge inconvenience to citizens. There is no advance intimation to the citizens. The names of the contractors, date of commencement and completion of work is not displayed.

At some places the workmen have damaged electric cables because of which street lights are not working and entire stretches of roads are plunged in darkness making driving hazardous. What is worse, many of the dug up sites are not even barricaded making walking on the streets dangerous.
