Mumbai: A raging issue of controversial ministers as well as the pending approval of the Public Safety Act is believed to have topped the agenda during the meeting between Governor CP Radhakrishnan and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday evening.
Two delegations of the Opposition parties called on the governor to air their views on the controversial ministers with a demand for their sacking. Before that, the delegation urged the governor not to approve the Public Safety Bill passed during the monsoon session of the state legislature.
On both issues, Radhakrishnan had told the members of the delegation comprising senior leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) that he would discuss all the points raised by them.
The delegation had submitted a list of the ministers who are in the news for various reasons, such as Sanjay Shirsat, Nitesh Rane, Manikrao Kokate, Sanjay Rathod and Yogesh Kadam. Besides, the delegation had raised the issue of MLA Sanjay Gaikwad beating up an employee of the MLA canteen, honey trap, tendering process of the Thane-Borivali tunnel project, land acquisition process in Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation, the seizure of Rs1.48 crore from a room in Dhule Rest House, attacks on Sambhaji Brigade state unit chief Praveen Gaikwad and Vijay Ghadge Patil of the Chhava organisation.
Another prominent issue that could have been discussed during the meeting between the governor and CM is the approval of the Public Safety Bill. The discussion could have centred around the concerns raised by the Opposition parties, say the sources.
