This year 23 km of Metro service is going to be operational and another 20 to 25 km services of Metro-3 are to be introduced, Fadnavis said. Mumbai: The delay in kickstarting Metro services due to nonavailability of space for the car sheds figured prominently in a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday.
Asking the officials to study various experiments globally, the Chief Minister directed the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to commence 23 km Metro service this year.
CM Devendra Fadnavis Reviews Metro Projects Undertaken
Reviewing the Metro projects undertaken by the authority in a meeting at the Sahyadri State Guest House at Malabar Hill, Fadnavis told officials to work on temporary measures if car sheds were not ready. His message comes in the backdrop of some projects being stuck for want of space for the car sheds.
