Madhya Pradesh Tops Khelo India Asmita Pencak Silat Women’s League Held In Navi Mumbai
Organised by the Maharashtra Pencak Silat Association and recognized by the Sports Authority of India (SAI), the league witnessed spirited participation from 364 athletes representing 30 states.

Madhya Pradesh dominated the Khelo India Asmita Pencak Silat Women’s League (Junior), emerging as the overall champion at the national-level tournament held from May 1st to 4th at Christ Academy School, Koparkhairane, Navi Mumbai.
Organized by the Maharashtra Pencak Silat Association and recognized by the Sports Authority of India (SAI), the league witnessed spirited participation from 364 athletes representing 30 states.
Madhya Pradesh’s athletes delivered a stellar performance, clinching the top spot with 5 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals. Host state Maharashtra secured the first runner-up position with 4 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze medal, while Assam stood third with 3 gold, 3 silver, and 7 bronze medals.
"The tournament not only served as a competitive platform for young female athletes but also rewarded them with direct scholarship deposits of ₹10,000, ₹8,000, and ₹6,000 for gold, silver, and bronze medal winners respectively," said the organisor.

The prize distribution ceremony was attended by several dignitaries including Thane MP Naresh Mhaske, Father Jason of Christ Academy, Indian Pencak Silat Federation National President Kishore Yewale, and other political and sports leaders.
President Surendra Pratap Singh, General Secretary Kishore Yewale, and Treasurer Mukesh Sonawane of the Maharashtra Pencak Silat Association, along with key members were the the organizing committee for the event.
