Former Mumbai mayor Kishori Pednekar received a threatening letter on Wednesday from a man named Vijendra Mhatre.

He said he was writing the letter from the Jai Maharashtra cyber cafe at Uran, Raigad District. "Now I am threatening you through this letter. Once the MVA government collapses... I will beat you on the road of Malabar Hill... and kill you and son and husband...," the letter said.

Mhatre said he would also beat up Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aditya if the government collapsed. It also mentioned named of Ajit Pawar. "Uddhav Thackeray became CM on the support of Ajit Pawar," it stated.

After receiving the letter, Pednekar registered a complaint at N.M. Joshi Marg police station. This is the third time she's received a threat, including in December last year.

Pednekar doubted that the current letter writer and December writer might be the same person.

Pednekar told FPJ: "This is a mischievous act. I am sure writer of the letter must be a psychic person. person has even not considered my age and status. But one thing is sure, action needs to be taken against such persons, they should not be spared. This person is threat to society and he doesn't know how to speak with women. I have registered complaint in NM Joshi Marg police station. They turned the complaint into FIR."
