Central Railway Announces 3-Day Power Block Between Lonavala & Malavali From April 18 To 20

Mumbai: The Central Railway has announced a special traffic and power block between Lonavala and Malavali on April 18, 2025 (Friday) to April 20 (Sunday). The information was shared by the railway on Thursday. These blocks are part of the ongoing work to launch four steel beams for the proposed construction of a Road Over Bridge (ROB) on this key section.

During the three days, train services along the Lonavala-Malavali route will be affected, and passengers are advised to take alternative routes or plan their travel accordingly.

An X post shared by the Central Railway stated, "Traffic and Power Blocks for launching of 4nos Steel for proposed construction of ROB on Lonavala - Malavali section from 18.04.2025 (Friday) to 20-04-2025 (Sunday). The inconvenience caused is highly regretted, and passengers are requested to bear with the Railways."

Block 1 – April 18 (Friday)

The first block will occur from 13:05 hrs to 16:05 hrs (3 hours). During this time, the CSMT-Chennai Express (Train No. 22159) will be regulated at Lonavala until 16:05 hrs. Additionally, the following EMU trains will be short-terminated or short-originated:

Train No. 99814, Pune-Lonavala suburban train leaving Pune at 11.17 hrs.

Train No. 99816 Shivaji Nagar-Lonavala suburban train leaving Shivaji Nagar at 12.05 hrs will be short-terminated at Malavali.

Train No. 99813 Lonavala-Pune suburban train leaving Lonavala at 14.50 hrs.

Train No. 99815 Lonavala-Shivaji Nagar suburban train leaving Lonavala at 15.30 hrs will short originate from Malavali.

Block 2 – April 19 (Saturday)

On 19.04.2025 (Saturday) from 13.05 hrs to 14.35 hrs (1:30 Hrs)

Block 3 – April 20 (Sunday)

On 20.04.2025 (Sunday) from 13.05 hrs to 15.05 hrs (2:00 hrs)

Short Termination / Origination of EMU trains:

Train No. 99816 Shivaji Nagar-Lonavala suburban train leaving Shivaji Nagar at 14.50 hrs will be short-terminated at Malavali.

Train No. 99813 Lonavala-Pune suburban train leaving Lonavala at 14.50 hrs will short originate from Malavali.

These blocks are essential for infrastructure upkeep and safety. Passengers are requested to bear with the railway administration for the inconvenience caused.
