Mumbai: Social media influencer and former Bigg Boss contestant Vikas Jayram Fhatak, known as Hindustani Bhau, has moved the Bombay High Court, seeking the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against Bollywood director and choreographer Farah Khan over her alleged remarks about the Hindu festival of Holi.
According to Fhatak’s plea, Khan made a derogatory comment during an episode of Celebrity MasterChef in February 2025, referring to Holi as “a festival for the Chhapris.”
He argued that the term “Chhapris” is widely used as slang with negative connotations, implying a lack of culture and refinement. He claimed that Khan’s remark, made on a popular public platform, offended Hindu sentiments and could incite communal disharmony.
Fhatak initially filed a complaint at Khar Police Station on February 21, urging action against Khan. When no FIR was registered, he escalated the matter to senior police officials, including the Deputy Commissioner and Additional Commissioner of Police. Despite these efforts, no action was taken.
With the police failing to respond, Fhatak has now approached the Bombay High Court, seeking judicial intervention to ensure that an FIR is lodged against Khan.
