Vasai: A horrifying visual of a tin sheet falling on a woman amid strong winds in the Vasai-Virar area has surfaced. CCTV footage of the incident, which occurred on July 5 at around 18:30, has also emerged. The woman reportedly suffered 22 stitches in the accident.
CCTV footage shows the tin sheet getting blown away amid the rain and strong winds. The clip shows the woman walking on the footpath when, suddenly, the tin sheet came falling down on the woman.
Another person who was standing behind the woman narrowly escaped. The woman has been identified as Deepa Amit Dhinoja. She suffered a deep head wound in the accident.
Fortunately, there was a shop's projecting awning at the spot, which prevented the tin sheet from striking the woman with full force, reducing the impact, according to India Today.
The injured woman was rushed to Ravi Hospital, where she is undergoing treatment. She is out of danger.
Similar incident in Ghansoli
Similarly, in another incident from earlier in the month, strong winds blew off metal sheets installed around an under-construction building in Navi Mumbai's Ghansoli. The visuals from the spot show the metal sheets being ripped off by strong winds before crashing onto a parked car.
The fallen sheets also obstructed the road, forcing vehicles to navigate carefully through the affected stretch and causing temporary traffic disruption in the region.

According to the IMD, Mumbai is likely to witness only isolated spells of light drizzle over the next few days. Rain activity is expected to gradually pick up from July 18, bringing moderate showers and generally cloudy skies.
