Mumbai: The National Film Development Corporation inaugurated the two-day BRICS WAVES Bazaar in Mumbai on Thursday, bringing together more than 500 delegates from BRICS member and partner countries to strengthen cooperation in the creative economy.
Held during India’s BRICS Presidency, the event includes representatives from governments, production houses, broadcasters, OTT platforms, technology companies, startups, investors and cultural institutions
The event features conferences, panel discussions, networking sessions and curated business-to-business meetings focused on co-productions, content financing, digital transformation, intellectual property rights, women-led entrepreneurship and emerging technologies.
The Creators’ Hub is showcasing startups, studios and technology providers seeking international partnerships. South African filmmaker, dental surgeon and educator Dr Eubulus Timothy is among the speakers. He will address cross-cultural storytelling and collaboration within BRICS.
Timothy has received the Durban Tourism Filmmaker of the Year 2026 award.
