Mumbai: The spotlight has shifted to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Exit Poll Results 2026 as voting for all 227 seats across Mumbai city concluded today, January 15. The Mahayuti alliance, comprising of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, and the Republican Party of India (RPI), is predicted to emerge as the largest bloc.

CNN-News18's JVC Exit Poll Results

According to the JVC Exit Poll, the Mahayuti is expected to secure around 138 seats, while the Uddhav and Raj Thackeray's alliance is projected to win 59 seats. The exit poll predicts 23 seats for the Congress–VBA alliance and 7 seats for others.

Axis My India Exit Poll Results

The Axis My India Exit Poll 2026 has predicted a massive vote share of 42 per cent for Mahayuti, securing 131–151 seats for the alliance. Meanwhile, the Thackeray brothers are projected to secure 58–68 seats. On the other hand, the exit poll predicts 12–16 seats for the Congress–VBA alliance.

DV Research exit poll Results

Another exit poll that has predicted a clean sweep for the Mahayuti alliance is the ABP News–DV Research Poll 2026. According to the exit poll, Mahayuti is set to win 107–122 seats. Sena (UBT) and the MNS are predicted to secure 68–83 seats, while the Congress and VBA are expected to win 18–25 seats. Ajit Pawar’s NCP may hold 2–4 seats, and others are projected to win 8–15 seats.

Saam TV's Mega Exit Poll

According to the exit poll results, the BJP is projected to secure 84 seats, while the Shinde Sena, is likely to win 35 seats. The exit poll predicts an upperhand for the Sena UBT with 65 seats, while the MNS is projected to win 10 seats. Meanwhile, the Congress + VBA alliance is expected to secure 23 seats, Ajit Pawar's NCP is likely to win 3 seats, and NCP (SP) to secure 2 seats.

Lokshahi Exit Polls

According to the Lokshahi exit polls, the BJP is predicted to win 80–90 seats, closely competing with the Sena UBT, which is likely to win around 60–70 seats. The Shinde Sena is projected to win 35–40 seats, while the Congress party is expected to secure 22–27 seats. The MNS, which is in alliance with the Sena UBT, is predicted to win just 7–12 seats.

Janmat Exit Polls

Janmat has predicted 138 seats for the ruling Mahayuti, while the 62 seats for the Thackeray brothers, while the Congress–VBA alliance is projected to secure 20 seats. Seven seats are expected to go to other candidates.

How many seats were the political parties contesting?

In Mumbai, the BJP is contesting 137 seats, the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena 90, while the NCP is fighting separately on 94 seats. The Shiv Sena (UBT) has fielded 163 candidates, the MNS 52, the Congress 143 and the VBA 46 in the city.

The polling marked the end of nearly four years without an elected civic body in Mumbai. In the 2026 BMC polls, a total of 3.48 crore voters were eligible to decide the fate of about 1700 candidates.
