A recent video of bees attacking caught people's attention. In the video, a swarm of giant bees, or Apis dorsata, suddenly attacked a group of tourists on the popular Nine Arch Bridge in Ella, Sri Lanka. Many tried to run away, but the locals present, including the police force, were seen lighting fires and creating smoke to repel the bees. Many were reportedly injured after being stung by the group of bees.

The bee attack on the Nine Arch Bridge has been reported before, when a foreign couple was suddenly attacked by bees. The male foreign tourist, who was caught in the midst of the bee attack, was assisted by a local who had set fire to drive away the bees.

The incident caught netizens' attention, and the video of the incident went viral on social media. A news agency named Sri Lanka Tweet shared the video on X (formerly Twitter) and captioned, "Several tourists (both local and foreign) were reportedly injured after being stung by a swarm of wasps at the iconic Nine Arch Bridge in Demodara."
