Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The school education department in Indore is gearing up for the launch of the free online admission process under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, starting May 5, 2025, for the academic year 2025–26. The initiative aims to provide free and compulsory education to children from weaker and disadvantaged sections in recognised private unaided schools.
In anticipation of the launch, District Project Coordinator (DPC) Indore Sanjay Mishra, is conducting extensive field-level inspections to ensure a smooth and transparent admission process. His responsibilities currently include:
• Verifying minority status certificates submitted by private schools,
• Checking the operational status and infrastructure readiness of schools,
• Processing and reviewing renewal applications for school recognition,
• Updating school profiles and seat availability for accurate display on the state education portal.
This rigorous groundwork is being carried out to ensure that only compliant and eligible schools are listed for RTE admissions, and that children are placed in verified and quality institutions.
Key dates for RTE admission process in Indore
• May 5: Display of class-wise seat availability in eligible private schools on the education portal.
• May 7–21: Online application window opens for parents and guardians.
• May 7–23: Document verification at Government Public Education Centres across Indore.
• By May 29: Online lottery draws and school allocation; applicants will be notified via SMS.
• June 2–10: Admission confirmation through in-person reporting at schools and via the official mobile app.
Eligibility and process details for Indore residents:
Parents residing in Indore city and surrounding wards can apply for their child's admission in private unaided schools listed within their vicinity. All documents must be verified at designated centres to complete the process.
Age criteria for admissions:
• Nursery: 3 to 4.5 years
• KG-1: 4 to 5.5 years
• KG-2: 5 to 6.5 years
• Class 1: 6 to 7.5 years
