Naag Panchami Special: Over 4 Lakh Devotees Visit Nagchandreshwar Temple In Ujjain; Footfall May Go Upto 10 Lakh As Gates Open Only Once A Year (VIDEO)

Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): Over 4 lakh devotees visited Nagchandreshwar temple on the occasion of Naag Panchami on Tuesday. The gates opened at 12am midnight as a crowd of devotees flocked to the premises.

The doors of Nagchandreshwar temple, located on the top floor of Shri Mahakaleshwar temple. The temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and the serpent god opens only once a year for 24 hours on the occasion of Naag Panchami.
Nearly 4 lakh devotees had already done darshan here by 11am on Tuesday. At least 10 lakh more are expected to visit before the door closes at 12 am on July 29, 2005.
Special rituals were performed at the temple to honour the Lord Chandreshwar.
This year, on the occasion of Naag Panchami, significant arrangements were made in the temple for the convenience of the devotees. A footbridge was built to reach the temple, which made darshan easier. Strong arrangements were made for the security and order of the temple.
