Madhya Pradesh: Woman Selected Under Disabled Quota Seen Dancing In Video, MPPSC Recommends Medical Test
The matter came under the spotlight when a video showed the woman dancing at an event.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission has asked the state government to examine a complaint and get a medical test of a woman candidate, selected recently under the disabled quota, done. The matter came under the spotlight when a video showed the woman dancing at an event.
“We had received a complaint that Priyanka Kadam, who was selected by MPPSC under the disabled quota, was not actually physically challenged. We forwarded the complaint to the excise department with recommendation to get her medical examination done before she was given permanent appointment,” MPPSC media coordinator Ravindra Panchbhai said.
A students’ organisation in Madhya Pradesh demanded an inquiry after Kadam was seen dancing in a viral video. However, Kadam denied any wrongdoing and explained her medical condition. Radhe Jat, a leader of the National Educated Youth Union, questioned Kadam’s disability claim. He stated that she had appeared for the State Service Examination 2022 conducted by the MPPSC and was selected as a district excise officer under the disabled quota. However, after videos of her dancing surfaced on social media, he demanded a re-evaluation of all selected candidates by AIIMS Bhopal doctors.
Kadam strongly denied any irregularity in her selection. “I come from an ordinary background and I have achieved my position in life by struggling hard”, she told PTI. She explained that she suffered a serious hip injury in 2017 after falling in the bathroom. An MRI revealed she had avascular necrosis, a condition in which the bone tissues die due to poor blood supply. She underwent four surgeries and had 45 percent disability, she said.
